FAQs
Most frequent questions and answers
When you are sick, who do you ask for help? A doctor. When you want to get healthy, who do you see? A physical trainer. When you are sad or anxious, who do you talk to? A therapist. When you want to make one of the biggest changes of your life – a career change – why wouldn’t you also seek out a professional? Leaving matters into your own hands with your career, where you spend ⅓ of your life, averaging 90,000 hours, can leave you feeling stuck and defeated. Like your health and happiness, your career (which arguably impacts both) is worth investing in.
- There are many writers filling the market today, but not all of them know how to help you. To know your writer is legitimate, look at:
- Their certifications to prove their devotion to ongoing education and mastery of written language to create targeted, ATS-friendly marketing tools (examples: NCRW, CMRW, or CPRW).
- Their professional affiliations to prove that they stay on top of job search trends, continuous improvement, and professional networking (examples: the National Resume Writers Association or the Professional Association of Resume Writers and Career Coaches).
- Their cost. Be wary of a company offering a 24-hour turnaround time for $100. You likely will have your resume farmed out to under-qualified writers.

Because it’s so competitive for job searchers, resumes need to be targeted in order to get into the hiring manager’s ‘yes’ pile. I would be doing you a disservice if I wrote you a “generalized” resume!
